Why do you need eKavach?
My PC has never crashed before. Why do I need eKavach?
No PC is crash proof. A PC consists of various hardware and software components which can fail due to varied reasons such as overheated hardware components, hard disk errors, software errors, virus attack, manual errors, etc. Hence your data files are vulnerable to corruption leading to unrecoverable loss and thereby adversely affecting your business. Business dynamics often make paltry information critical; temporary slack can throw you off track. eKavach Disaster Recovery service will store your data and if required maintain multiple backup versions. This ensures that in the eventuality of any data loss incurred due to natural calamities, theft, virus attack, PC crash, etc., restoration of your data to the last backed up state is just a button click away.
I routinely backup my data on CD/DVD/USB drive/External HDD. Why do I need to store data with eKavach?
Manual back up of data is a time-consuming and unreliable process. There is a risk of damage to the physical data back-up storage systems and it is hard to determine if your data has been backed-up properly. eKavach resolves this by storing data in multiple systems, and hence your data can be retrieved in case of your local storage system experiences breakdown. This will be achieved without delay which ensures uninterrupted business operations. Experts at YON systems will assist you to identify business critical data requiring regular automated back-up.
I do not want to share my data with a third party. How can I be certain that no one else can access or view my data?
At no point you are ‘sharing’ your data with anyone, including YON systems. eKavach will encrypt your data before transferring to eKavach server with a passkey which will be available only to you. eKavach allows you to select type of data encryption technique including AES 256 key encryption. This parole system is similar to the one used by US military to encrypt their highest level of confidential data. So be rest assured that your data will be accessible only by you and no one, including the system administrators at YON, can access your information.

How will I get back my data when I need it?
You can always restore data online yourself to the same location on your computer system or at any selected location at any point of time. In case a larger volume of data or complete dataset needs to be restored it may not be a viable option to retrieve the data online. In such cases YON customer service team can personally help you to recover your data offline at your premises within a fixed time frame.
What infrastructure do I need to avail YON data service?
You only need a broadband internet connection and minimum 256mb RAM to avail our services.
How much space can you provide me for data storage?
Our service starts from as low as 1GB of server space onwards so that customers with small requirement can start protecting their data in an offsite disaster recovery center. There is no upper limit for the storage.
How many computers can I backup through eKavach Service?
eKavach’s data protection system is based on the server space offered to the customer. It does not depend on the number of computers. If your systems are in a network then any system data can be backed-up using the one eKavach account.
